On Saturday, August 2nd, members of our Rotary Club gathered at Windward City Shopping Center and Waterfront Plaza to participate in Hawaii Foodbank’s annual statewide sign-waving campaign. Joined by two enthusiastic guests, we proudly stood in green shirts and orange vests to encourage passing drivers to donate food, funds, or simply spread awareness.

The event wasn’t just about visibility—it was about standing up for a cause that’s facing real challenges. With recent funding cuts, the Hawaii Foodbank needs community support more than ever to continue nourishing families across the islands.

We had fun holding signs, waving to cars, and even cheering on fellow volunteers. Club President Eugene, ever the charmer, walked away with the single largest donation of the day—a $20 bill—which he credits to his good looks.

Whether you’re in it for the impact or the laughs (or both), Rotary is a great place to serve your community. Want to make a difference while connecting with others? Come join us.
